New Joiners -> Access IT Service 

The Computer Centre (CC) and CAS Team warmly welcome all new joinees to IISER Bhopal. Below is essential information for accessing various IT services available on campus.

For new employees, please fill out the account registration form for the Institute's Email and LDAP Account: https://web2.iiserb.ac.in/email_ldap/.

Note: If you have previously registered or were part of the institute, select Renewal of an old account and mention your old email ID.

After the completion of above request form, CC will provide the account details which will be as follows:

Office365 ID: XXXXX@iiserb.ac.in

Access Credentials for All Accounts (Email, LDAP, and Office365)

a. Email Access
Use your provided credentials to log in at https://newmail.iiserb.ac.in/a/iiserb.ac.in. Please ensure your password is strong and secure.

b. LDAP (Central Authentication System)
Your LDAP credential provides access to various campus services, including Shiksha, CAS, the instrument booking portal, and more.

c. Microsoft Office 365
Use your Office 365 credentials for accessing online Office applications, including MS Teams. You can also download Office 365 on your devices from the following link: https://cc.iiserb.ac.in/download.


To connect personal devices (e.g., mobile, laptop, desktop) to the internet, the user must have to register the device actual MAC Address at the MAC Address Registration Portal at https://web.iiserb.ac.in/mac/ (accessible only on campus).

To complete the MAC Address Registration Process, the users may use the desktops in the CC Lab.  The labs are  at the second floor of the CC Building.

Via the use of LDAP (Central Authentication System) the CAS Portal can be accessed.

Edit PDF Files Using Microsoft Office 365

IISER Bhopal users can utilize Microsoft Office 365 to edit PDF files. The steps are as follows:

1. Open the PDF in Word:

a. Navigate to File > Open.

b. Locate and open the PDF file (you may need to select Browse to find the PDF in a specific folder).

c. The MS Word application will inform you that it will create a copy of the PDF and convert its contents into a format that MS Word can display. The original PDF will remain unchanged.

d. Select OK.

2. Edit and Save the PDF file:

a. After making your edits, you can save the document as a Word file or a PDF file.

b. In the Save menu, choose the desired document type from the Save as dropdown menu and select OK.

How do I access the Internet on Personal Devices?

To connect personal devices (mobile, laptop, desktop) to the internet, they must be registered on the campus MAC Address Registration Portal. Please register your device at https://web.iiserb.ac.in/mac/ (accessible only on the campus network). Desktops in the Computer Centre Building may be used to complete the registration process.

Note:- Students can log in, and the faculty members can log in (managed by the Academic office).

If any of you already responded to such emails or given your account information, it is requested you kindly change your password IMMEDIATELY. Computer Center will never ask for your USERNAME and password for any reason.


File/Folder Sharing on Google Drive

Google Drive is an associated feature with G Suit email services. IISERB community members may use this feature for uploading/downloading and sharing files/data on Google Drive.

OCT 14, 2021 | Change/Forget LDAP Password

In addition to changing the LDAP password utility, the registered users are now able to use the same utility to reset their LDAP password. The web link is available at the Institute main page -> Facilities -> CC Home -> Change/Forget LDAP Password, or it can be accessed by Click Here.

AUG 18, 2020 | Online Sample Submission Portal - Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF)

CC has converted the offline sample submission forms into ONLINE sample submission Forms. The form link is available on the Institute main page under ‘Services -> CIF Instrument Booking’, or it can be accessed by Click Here

This service is only available on Intranet.

JUN 16, 2020 | Online No-Dues Form - Students

The graduating student or the provided list of students will be able to submit a No-Dues Form via an online mechanism from this year onwards. The form link is available at the Institute main page under ‘Download and Forms’, or it can be accessed by Click Here.

MAY 20, 2020 | Online Thesis Submission & Acceptance Portal

In view of the COVID-19 pandemic situation, an online MS Thesis Submission and Acceptance process for BS-MS and PhD has been adopted.


The eligible set of students can log in and submit their thesis document in PDF format by selecting his/her department and the name of the PI. The system will send an email notification to an individual PI for information. The PI can download the document for review and acceptance. The PI can also ask the student to re-submit the thesis document after incorporating revisions suggested by the PI.


In the same way, after the PI's acceptance, an email notification will be sent to DUGC for review and then to DOAA for final approval.

AUG 16, 2019 | MAC Address-Based Internet Access

In accordance with the Office Order No. IISERB/DO/00/2019/67 dated July 24, 2019, CC has started the implementation of MAC address or Physical address-based Internet access. The users can register or provide the details of their device via the "MAC Address Registration" form available on the Institute's home page under 'Quick Find'.

JUN 11, 2019 | Protect Email Messages With Confidential Mode

CC has enabled "Protect Email messages with confidential mode" for IISER Bhopal community members.


By use of this option, IISER Bhopal users can protect sensitive information from unauthorized access using Confidential Mode. The recipient of email messages in confidential mode will not have the privilege to copy, forward, print, or download messages, including attachments.

APR 03, 2019 | IISERB WLAN Wi-Fi Profile For MAC Or iPhone Users

This information is for Mac or iPhone users who are using IISERB WLAN wifi connection to their devices.


The users are requested to download and use the new Wi-Fi profile file for Mac machines or iPhone mobiles to connect with the IISERB WLAN. CC has renewed the SSL certificate for the iiserb.ac.in the domain and the same has been uploaded on the IISERB WLAN wi-fi profile.

The new concept room on the Ground Floor CC Building to add thoughts is available for use. (For 360° view of the room)

SEP 10, 2018 | 2-Step Verification - Extra Layer Of Security For IISERB Email Account

CC has enabled 2-Step Verification or two-factor authentication for IISERB email accounts. It will add an extra layer of security to your IISERB email account. By using it, a user can avoid login access to his/her IISERB email account if an unauthorized person has the password of his/her email account.

AUG 07, 2018 | Google Classroom Feature For IISER Bhopal Community Members

CC has enabled a Google Classroom feature for IISER Bhopal community members. It is a free web portal or service that gives users/teachers a secure medium to communicate and collaborate with students.

MAY 20, 2018 | Deployment Of CC Data Centre Into Production

CC has shifted the transit IT setup from Academic Building-2 to the new Data Center in the CC building. The floor area of the Data Center is available with 20 spaces backed by two separate power sources.

FEB 15, 2018 | Wi-Fi Network - Eduroam

While visiting other "eduroam" enabled institutions, this facility allows users to authenticate and connect to the visiting institutions' network using their home institute ID and password. It provides Internet connectivity to IISERB community members, in the campus of other participating institutions, universities, colleges, and libraries.

The Internet bandwidth has been upgraded to 1 Gbps via the NKN network, and the backup Internet connectivity is being provided by 720 Mbps through BSNL.

Wi-Fi network "IISERB WLAN" will give flexibility to mobile devices to roam or switch from one building or access point (AP) to another while maintaining an active network connection.
